Get Involved

Our samba school's focus is on music and performance and it thrives on the passion of everyone involved. To enable our school to perform, especially at large events like Pride, includes a lot of non-performing roles and there are plenty of ways you can contribute your time or skills and be involved with the Brighton School of Samba.

Non-performing roles

Time, experience and help is always welcome in any of the following areas on a voluntary basis:

  • Photography and videography

  • Website & Financial Administration

  • Stewards - to help marshall the group on parades (esp, Brighton Pride, Burning the Clocks, Kemptown Carnival)

  • Designers and costume artists

  • Compositores (musicians, singers and composers)

  • Transport and logistics (Brighton area)

Support & Donations

The Brighton School of Samba relies on income from its classes and memberships to support its activities. To keep workshops open and accessible to all parts of the community, these individual costs are kept as low as possible.

Support for the Brighton School of Samba can be made in a number of ways, including:

  • Provision of materials for costumes

  • Donation of your time and/or skill in a non-performing capacity (see above)

  • Financial donations that will benefit the School's activities in providing skills opportunities to the community
